FAQ

What is a Midwife?

Midwives offer comprehensive care for women throughout all stages of life. They are dedicated to enhancing women's health with an evidence based approach. Their services include pregnancy and childbirth, routine gynecological check-ups, health concerns, family planning, hormone health, and menopause. Your well-being is top priority, and Midwives seek to empower women with the knowledge and care they deserve.

Can you order prescriptions or labs?

Midwives in New York are granted full practice authority by our licensing board. This means we are able to practice without the need for physician oversight. Our license allows us to write prescriptions, and order diagnostic tests such as mammograms, and ultrasounds. When needed, Midwives will collaborate with Physicians for care that is outside our scope of practice.

Weight loss and wellness services often include the use of compounded or "off-label" medications. Due to the nature of these services they are cash-pay only services and insurance benefits do not apply.

At this time I am not providing prenatal care or attending births.
